Trainers that may not work

ErgTrainer requires Bluetooth connectivity and FTMS with controllable resistance (ERG). Trainers that may not work include:

  • Trainers that only broadcast basic power/speed via Bluetooth (no FTMS)
  • Older models without FTMS support
  • Non-smart ("dumb") trainers or basic mag/fluid trainers without electronic resistance control

How to check if your trainer is compatible

To verify if your smart trainer works with ErgTrainer:

  1. Check your trainer's manual or manufacturer website for "Bluetooth FTMS" or "Fitness Machine Service" support
  2. Look for "ERG mode" or "controllable resistance" in the specifications
  3. If your trainer works with apps like Zwift, TrainerRoad, or Sufferfest in ERG mode over Bluetooth, it should work with ErgTrainer
